Referral Programme Terms

Effective date: 4 November 2026  |  Last updated: 4 November 2026  |  Version: 1.0

The short version

  • Invite people who are new to Brief72 with your link or code.
  • A creator you invite counts once our team has approved them and they’ve finished their first paid campaign, within 30 days of joining: you each get a reward (currently £10). A brand you refer counts once it has a campaign of at least the minimum budget (currently £5,000) approved and paid for within 30 days of joining: you get a reward (currently £100), paid once that campaign has finished.
  • You need your own Brief72 account and, if you’re a creator, to have been approved by our team by the same deadline. You don’t need to have done a campaign yourself.
  • Each referral keeps the rewards and rules in place on the day the new member joined. If we make the Programme worse for you, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before, except in an emergency.
  • Our team checks every referral before paying. Creators’ rewards are added to their Available Balance; brands and agencies are paid by our team once they get in touch. Rewards are paid by Brief72, never out of anyone’s fee or budget.
  • Posting your link publicly? Start the post with “Ad”, say you get a reward and put the main conditions in the post. Only send it privately to people who’ve asked you for it, and never put it in a review of Brief72.
  • If we refuse or take back a reward, we’ll email you our reasons, and we’ll tell you if a referral runs out of time. You can ask for a review within 14 days.

The full terms below are what apply.

1. About these terms

These terms explain how the Brief72 referral programme (the “Programme”) works. The Programme is run by Brief72 (“Brief72”, “we”, “us”), the promoter. Our details are below. You can write to us at our registered office, or email us about the Programme at [email protected].

These terms form part of the Creator Terms and the Advertiser Terms. If anything in those terms conflicts with these terms on the Programme, these terms apply. You accept these terms when you sign up, by ticking the box that says you agree to the Creator Terms (or the Advertiser Terms) and the Referral Terms, or when we ask you to accept a new version when you sign in. We record which version you accepted and when.

Promoter: Brief72

2. Key words

  • Referrer: the person who shares their invite link or code.
  • New member: the person or business who joins Brief72 (opens a Brief72 account) with it.
  • Invite link and code: the personal link and code shown on the “Invite & earn” page (creators) or the “Refer & earn” page (brands and agencies).
  • Deadline: the end of the day (UK time) 30 days after the new member joins, as shown in the App, or any later date we give under these terms (for example under clause 5, 6.4 or 11).
  • Rewards: the referrer’s reward and any welcome reward for the new member.
  • App: the Brief72 websites (brief72.com, and the web apps for creators at creators.brief72.com and for brands and agencies at brands.brief72.com, which you can also add to your phone’s home screen), and any Brief72 mobile app we make available.

3. Who can take part

3.1 Referrers

You can be a referrer if you have a Brief72 creator, brand or agency account in good standing (it isn’t suspended or banned), you’re 18 or over, and you live in the UK (or, for a business, are based in the UK). Brief72 staff, and anyone who helps us run Brief72 (other than as a creator taking part in campaigns), can’t take part. If you close your account after a referral has qualified, you don’t lose your reward: email us and, once our checks are done, we’ll pay it to you.

3.2 New members

A new member must be 18 or over, live in (or, for a business, be based in) the UK, be new to Brief72 (clause 4), and meet the Creator Terms or the Advertiser Terms. Joining doesn’t guarantee that a creator will be approved, or chosen for a campaign: we and the brands decide which creators take part in each campaign.

3.3 Businesses you’re connected to

You can’t refer a business you own, work for or act for (including as its agency), or one in the same group of companies, and you can’t refer yourself or another account you control.

4. Who counts as new

The new member must be new to Brief72: they mustn’t have, or have had, a Brief72 account. To check, we compare their email address, social media accounts, bank details, and name and date of birth with current accounts, and with the coded records of closed accounts that we keep for 3 years (clause 12.2). A business counts as new only if neither it nor any of its brands already uses Brief72, which we check by company email address, brand name and website.

Each person or business can only be referred once.

5. How to refer

The new member must join with your invite link, or enter your code when they sign up. If they forget, they can add your code in the App within 7 days of joining (the App shows the date), as long as, for a creator, their first paid campaign isn’t finished yet or, for a brand or agency, its first campaign hasn’t been approved yet. We can’t link a referral after that, unless something on our side stopped it being recorded, in which case we’ll link it ourselves if you tell us.

A brand or agency that joins without your link or code can tell us who referred it instead: it must email [email protected] within 30 days of joining, naming you, and before its first campaign has finished.

If we link a referral ourselves, its deadline is still 30 days after the new member joined, unless we give a later date. The App shows each referral’s deadline.

We don’t contact anyone on your behalf, and the App doesn’t send your link to your contacts. How you share it is up to you, within clause 9.

6. When a referral qualifies

6.1 Inviting a creator

A creator referral qualifies when, by the deadline:

  • the new member has confirmed their email address and been approved by our team; and
  • their first paid campaign is finished: their content has been approved and posted, and their fee has been released to their Available Balance after the views check.

6.2 Referring a brand

A brand referral qualifies when, by the deadline, the new member has confirmed their email address and has had a campaign approved by us and paid for, with a budget of at least the minimum shown in the App when they joined (currently £5,000). It doesn’t have to be their very first campaign, as long as it’s the first one that reaches the minimum. The reward is paid once that campaign has closed: its end date has passed and its creators’ content and views checks are finished. If the brand cancels that campaign before it closes and gets its budget back, the referral doesn’t count, unless another campaign of at least the minimum was approved and paid for by the deadline.

6.3 Your part as the referrer

You don’t need to have done a campaign of your own. You do need your own Brief72 account in good standing (clause 3.1) and, if you’re a creator, to have been approved by our team by the same deadline. A referral qualifies once you’ve both met your conditions by the deadline. The App shows how each referral is getting on.

6.4 Delays on our side

We don’t want our own delays to cost you a referral:

  • Checks that finish after the deadline: a creator’s campaign counts as finished on time if they sent their content by the deadline, and a brand’s campaign counts as approved on time if the brand submitted it for approval by the deadline, as long as our checks finish within 30 days after the deadline.
  • Extensions: if, when the deadline passes, the new member is still waiting on us (their account is waiting for our approval, their content is being reviewed or is in its 5-day views check, or a brand’s campaign is waiting for our approval), we’ll extend the deadline by 7 days at a time while it’s still waiting, up to 30 days after the original deadline in all. The App shows the new deadline.
  • Your own approval: if a referral closes because your own approval as a creator was still with our team at the deadline, ask for a review (clause 11) and we’ll reopen it with a new deadline.

6.5 The rules each referral keeps

Each referral keeps the rules in place on the day the new member joined: the reward amounts (clause 7), the time to qualify, the minimum budget for a brand (clause 6.2), and what you need to do as the referrer (clause 6.3: no campaign of your own). If we change any of these later, or pause or end the Programme, the change doesn’t apply to referrals already made (clause 13.4). We may improve a referral’s rules, for example by raising a reward or giving more time, but we won’t lower its rewards, raise its minimum budget, add a condition or bring its deadline forward.

7. Rewards

  • The amounts: the reward amounts are shown on the invite page, and confirmed to you in the App when your new member joins. The amounts in place when the new member joined apply to that referral (clause 6.5). Currently: for inviting a creator, £10 to the referrer and £10 to the new member; for referring a brand, £100 to the referrer.
  • Creators receive rewards as money added to their Available Balance, which they can withdraw like other earnings (Creator Terms, clause 17).
  • Brands and agencies are paid by our team, not through the App. When a reward is ready we’ll email you: reply, or email [email protected], to tell us how you’d like to be paid (for example, by bank transfer), and we’ll pay you within 30 days of hearing from you. If you refer on behalf of a business you work for, make sure it’s happy for you to accept the reward, or ask us to pay the business instead.
  • Who pays: rewards are paid by Brief72 from its own funds. They never come out of a creator’s fee or a brand’s campaign budget.
  • Once only: each qualifying referral earns each reward once.

8. Checks and payment

Our team checks every referral twice before anything is paid: once to approve the referral (is the new member genuinely new, and someone other than the referrer?), and again to approve the payout once it has qualified. Our checks (clause 12.2) flag possible matches, such as a shared internet connection. A person on our team looks at every match before deciding anything: a match is a reason to look more closely, not proof that anything is wrong. We may also look more closely when one person makes a lot of referrals in a short time (currently, more than 10 in a calendar month), but that alone isn’t a reason to refuse a referral.

A referral that hasn’t qualified by its deadline closes automatically. We’ll tell you when that happens, and you can ask us to look again (clause 11).

We’ll pay rewards within 30 days of a referral qualifying (for a brand referral, of its campaign closing; for brands and agencies, of hearing from you once the reward is ready), and we’ll tell each person who gets a reward when we pay it.

9. Sharing your link

  • Say it’s an ad, and give the main conditions: if you post your link or code where other people can see it (for example on social media, a website or in a video), start the post with “Ad” (or “#ad”), say you get a reward, and put the main conditions in the post itself. A link to these terms on its own isn’t enough. For example: “Ad: join Brief72 with my link and we both get £10 once you’re approved and finish your first paid campaign within 30 days of joining. New UK creators aged 18 or over only. T&Cs: brief72.com/referral-terms”. For brands: “Ad: I get £100 if a brand I refer joins Brief72 and has a campaign of £5,000 or more approved within 30 days of joining. New UK brands only. T&Cs: brief72.com/referral-terms”. In a video, say the main conditions or show them on screen. Use the amounts and conditions shown on your invite page, and if we tell you they’re changing, update or remove posts that quote the old ones before the change takes effect.
  • Private messages: only send your link or code by email, text, a messaging app, a direct message or any other private message to someone who has asked you for it, and tell them you get a reward. Don’t send it to people who haven’t asked, send bulk or automated messages, use bought or scraped lists, bots or fake accounts, or post it where the platform’s rules don’t allow it.
  • Reviews: don’t put your link or code in a review of Brief72 (for example on a review website or an app store), and don’t write a review of Brief72, or ask anyone else to, in return for a reward. If you talk about your own experience of Brief72 in a post with your link, it’s still an ad: start it with “Ad”.
  • Campaign content: don’t add your link or code to videos, captions or comments you make for a brand’s campaign, unless the Campaign Brief allows it.
  • Be accurate: don’t say or suggest that people will be approved, chosen for campaigns or earn a particular amount, and don’t pretend to be Brief72 or to work for us.
  • No paid search or incentives: don’t run search adverts using “Brief72” or similar words, post your code on voucher or cashback sites, or offer people money or gifts to use your link.
  • Audience: don’t aim your posts at people under 18 or outside the UK.

If we ask you to change or remove a post or message that breaks these rules, please do so promptly.

10. When a referral doesn’t count

We may refuse a referral, or a reward, only if we reasonably believe that:

  • the new member isn’t new to Brief72 (clause 4), or isn’t eligible (clause 3);
  • the referrer and the new member are the same person, or the accounts are controlled by the same person;
  • account details are false, or belong to someone else;
  • the referral came from sharing that breaks clause 9, such as spam, bought lists, bots, paid incentives, reviews or misleading posts;
  • the qualifying campaign, content or views weren’t genuine, the payment for them was reversed, or the campaign was cancelled and its budget refunded (a refund for views we didn’t deliver under the views guarantee in Advertiser Terms clause 14 doesn’t count);
  • you referred a business you own, work for or act for (clause 3.3); or
  • there’s been another serious breach of these terms, or a serious breach of the Creator Terms or the Advertiser Terms that’s connected with the referral or that led us to close your account.

A minor slip, such as a post without “Ad” or the main conditions that you fix when we ask, isn’t a reason to refuse a reward.

11. Refusing or reversing a reward

11.1 Telling you

If we refuse a referral or a reward, or reverse a reward we’ve paid, we’ll email each person whose reward is affected to tell them why, including which reason in clause 10 applies. If a referral closes because it didn’t qualify by its deadline, we’ll email you to let you know.

11.2 Asking for a review

You can reply, or email [email protected], within 14 days of our email with anything you’d like us to consider, or to ask which condition wasn’t met. Where possible, someone who wasn’t involved in the first decision will review it, and we’ll tell you the outcome, with our reasons, within 14 days of your reply. If we find we got it wrong, we’ll put it right, for example by reopening the referral or paying the reward.

11.3 Reversals

We can only reverse a reward for a reason in clause 10, and only within 12 months of paying it. We’ll only take back the reward of the person whose conduct is the reason: for example, if the referrer broke clause 9, the new member keeps their welcome reward.

11.4 How we take a reward back

For a creator, we take the reward back from your Available Balance. If you’ve already withdrawn it, your balance may go below zero until your next earnings cover it, or we may ask you to pay it back. For a brand or agency, we’ll ask you to pay it back.

12. Tax and privacy

12.1 Tax

Rewards are paid in full, without tax taken off. They’re taxable income: for a creator, they’re part of your business income, like your other Brief72 earnings; for a business, they’re business income. You’re responsible for telling HMRC about them and paying any tax (for creators, Creator Terms clause 19). We report creators’ rewards to HMRC with their other Brief72 earnings, under the digital platform reporting rules (Creator Terms, clause 19.3).

12.2 Privacy

To run the Programme, the referrer sees the new member’s first name and the initial of their surname, when they joined, their deadline and how far they’ve got (only the stages, never their earnings, the brands they work with or the reasons for decisions about their account or campaigns). The new member sees the referrer’s first name and initial. Anyone you give your code to also sees your first name and the initial of your surname when they use it. When we tell you why a referral didn’t count (clause 11), we don’t share anything private about the other person.

To check that each new member is genuinely new, and isn’t the referrer under another name, we compare their email address, social media accounts, bank details, and name and date of birth (and, for a business, its company email domain, brand names and websites) with other accounts, and we compare the internet connections (IP addresses) that they and the referrer sign in from. We do this under our legitimate interests in preventing fraud and misuse of the Programme, and a person on our team looks at every match before deciding anything.

When any Brief72 account is closed and its details are deleted, whether or not it took part in the Programme, we keep a coded record of its email address, social media accounts, bank details, and name and date of birth for 3 years. It’s a keyed hash (a code made with a secret key), not the details themselves, and we use it only to check whether new members are genuinely new. Our Privacy Policy explains more, including your right to object.

13. Changes, pausing and ending the Programme

13.1 When the Programme runs

The Programme starts on 20 October 2026 and runs until we end it.

13.2 What we may change

We may change these terms, the reward amounts or the conditions for new referrals, or pause or end the Programme or part of it (for example, creator invites or brand referrals), for a good reason, such as a change in the law or guidance, misuse of the Programme, or the cost of running it.

13.3 Notice of changes that are worse for you

If a change is worse for you, we’ll tell you in the App and by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Changes that are worse for you include lower rewards, a higher minimum budget, less time to qualify or to add a code, a new condition for you or the new member, and pausing or ending the Programme or part of it. We’ll only make a change sooner in an emergency, where the law, a regulator, a security problem or fraud makes it necessary, and we’ll give you as much notice as we can.

13.4 Referrals already made

A change to the rules in clause 6.5 only applies to people who join after it takes effect. If we pause or end the Programme or part of it, new members can no longer join with an invite or add a code, but anyone who joined with an invite, or added a code, before then keeps the rules in clause 6.5 and can still qualify until their deadline.

13.5 Improvements

We may improve the Programme at any time, for example by raising a reward or giving more time. An improvement applies from the date we say.

14. Complaints, liability and law

If you’re unhappy with anything to do with the Programme, email [email protected] and we’ll reply within 5 working days. For a decision about a referral or a reward, you can also ask for a review under clause 11. If you’re still unhappy, you can ask for a senior review under the Creator Terms (clause 31) or the Advertiser Terms (clause 28).

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can’t legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer. Otherwise, the liability terms in the Creator Terms or the Advertiser Terms apply. The limits on our liability in those terms don’t reduce any reward we owe you under these terms, and nothing in them shortens the time you have to claim one.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
